“The memories of my whimsical world past and present seem to blossom in my paintings as I age as an artist. I paint to please my soul and to fuel my creativities. Maturity brings to my life complications and new fabrications. The endless imagery of life experiences fills my canvas with joy and fulfillment.”

Michelle is a visually impaired artist who has been creating artwork and writing since she was a young child. She has always liked drawing and writing fantasy. Six years ago, while at a church retreat, she found out that buying paints didn’t have to break the bank and started painting. As of a year ago, she began worship art at the Salvation Army Edmonton Crossroads Community Church.

I received my Bachelor of Design degree from the University of Alberta in 2007, and am currently working as a graphic designer at Grant MacEwan University. Design and photography is where I am most passionate. I love to explore different structures and architectural styles, then capture them in photographic form. I started a personal project with the intention of capturing lens flair to further explore the relationship between structure, style and light.

Gail Seemann sees beauty in everything. She paints a diverse range of subjects, sometimes wandering from the path of reality into the world of fantasy. She is fascinated by the beauty that can be found in the creative arrangement of everyday objects. Light and shadow create shapes of colour and reflection that inspire magical still life paintings. She is drawn to nature, especially when she finds dramatic light effects and wonderful arrangements of rock, water and plants.

I am an artist whose medium is pencil. I do commissioned pencil portraits of people and animals. My goal as an artist is to create that spark in my portraits that brings my subjects to life. To achieve that and touch someone with my artwork is what I hope for as an artist.
